High-pile door bottom brush seal is selected for a wider clearance where a short window pile cannot reach the opposing surface. The application may be a compatible commercial door bottom, sliding-door frame side, partition or wardrobe edge. The key decisions are usable brush reach, backing retention and acceptable contact throughout door movement.
Gleam reviews the brush section against the door and holder drawing. A taller pile is not automatically a better seal: it needs enough support and suitable contact to avoid excessive bending, dragging or uneven closure.

Brush height, holder and gap work together
Measure the installed gap at several positions. For a door bottom, include floor variation and the full sweep or sliding path. Identify how much backing is captured by the holder and where the free pile begins. The overall strip height is not the same as the exposed brush reach.
A commercial door bottom brush may be supplied as a replacement insert for an existing carrier. If an aluminum holder, angle or F-profile is required, include its cross-section, material, fixing method and cut length in the enquiry. The brush, holder, screws and end pieces must be listed separately in the quotation; the photographs here do not represent a complete fitted door-bottom kit.
| Item to specify | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Application | Door bottom, frame side or partition gap; show the direction of movement. |
| Gap range | Record minimum and maximum gap over the full travel, including floor variation. |
| Brush height | State free pile height and overall strip height; identify the part captured by the holder. |
| Backing/holder fit | Provide width, thickness and retaining cross-section; include the existing carrier sample when possible. |
| Requested 9 × 23 mm reference | Available as an ordering option; confirm backing width × height, the height convention and the required section on the drawing. |
| Material and density | Quoted pile and backing construction, color and approved reference sample. |
| Supply scope | Brush insert only or a separately specified carrier assembly; confirm all fixing components. |
| Cut length and packing | Approved length, end treatment, bundle protection, label and carton dimensions. |
Draft, dust and soft-contact applications
The pile can help close a light draft or dust path when it maintains suitable contact. A door seal brush allows a different contact behavior from a solid rubber blade or compression gasket. Confirm the use case before replacing one with another.
Terms such as windproof sliding door weather stripping, anti-collision door bottom seal and soundproof door seal can describe different buyer expectations. A brush does not serve as a structural door stop, safety edge, impact absorber or certified acoustic seal. It should also not obstruct the drainage path of an exterior sliding door.
Trial the strip before approving a bulk cut-length order
- Measure the holder and identify the retaining geometry.
- Fit a short trial section to confirm retention without forcing the backing.
- Check contact at the smallest and largest gaps.
- Move the door through its complete travel and confirm floor and hardware clearance.
- Check whether the brush returns after contact and whether its ends need restraint.
- Approve the full-length assembly and packing before production quantities are released.

Procurement questions
Can I replace a 6 mm pile with a 23 mm pile?
Not from height alone. Backing retention, brush support, actual gap and movement must all be reviewed. A tall, unsupported brush can bend rather than create consistent contact.
Does the product include an aluminum F-profile?
Only when the approved quotation lists the holder and its dimensions. Send a drawing or sample of the required aluminum section and specify whether it is a replacement insert or a complete assembly enquiry.
Can this seal a bathroom or shower door?
Provide the exact position. A brush can suit some moving frame-side applications, but it is not a water-containment substitute for a correctly selected shower-door gasket or threshold seal.
Are long strips shipped in rolls?
The packing method depends on the backing and any carrier. Agree rolls, straight cut lengths or protected bundles according to the selected construction; avoid packing that permanently distorts the pile or profile.
Request a comparable commercial offer
Provide quantities in metres or pieces, the length per piece, brush/holder scope, drawing revision, color and destination. This allows brush-only quotations to be distinguished from complete carrier assemblies and avoids comparing unlike units.
Standard dimensions and custom production
Common market sizes can be produced. Special backing widths, pile heights and lengths can be manufactured from your sample or drawing. State the mounting method and height convention with each size; the same nominal width and height do not make different backing profiles interchangeable.
Request a B2B quotation
Send the door-bottom or side-gap photo, holder section, gap range, required brush height, cut length, quantity and destination.
