Price is per individual caster, not per complete set. Confirm wheel size, mounting and brake configuration. Complete sets are quoted according to the required number and configuration of casters.

Confirm specification, order quantity and packaging in your inquiry. Freight and import charges are not included.

Specify the Complete Rolling Base for a Flight or Road Case

A flight case caster set is purchased as a coordinated arrangement, not just four unrelated wheels. Gleam helps case builders, equipment OEMs and hardware distributors specify blue TPR casters by wheel size, plate pattern, installed height, steering layout and brake positions. The aim is a case that moves comfortably through the planned route and can be positioned with accessible parking controls.

TPR is a candidate for premium road cases, instrument cases and indoor event equipment where quieter rolling and a resilient contact surface matter. It can also be selected for everyday transport cases when the budget supports it. “Flight case” identifies the equipment application; it does not imply aviation approval or any aircraft-use certification.

Choose a Set Layout Before Choosing the Colour

Set starting point Useful when What to check
Four swivel positions, with two specified brakes The case must be manoeuvred in confined rooms or positioned sideways. Brake access, directional control and the route with the case loaded.
Two rigid plus two swivel positions, with braking as required Straighter tracking matters on corridors or regular handcart routes. Handle location, turning space and matched installed height.
Drawing-matched case arrangement An existing case base or equipment frame has fixed mounting interfaces. Corner clearance, reinforcement, fasteners and the required parking function.

The number of brakes and their location should suit the equipment and operating procedure. “TPR casters set with swivel brake” must identify how many casters have a brake and whether each brake restrains the wheel only or both the wheel and swivel. Use the brake-caster specification page for that component-level decision.

Common Flight-Case Size Options

Common market dimensions can be produced, and special sizes can be developed from your sample or drawing. The dimensions below are ordering options, not measurements taken from the photos. Confirm the complete assembly drawing, load rating and mounting fit before approving an order.

Nominal wheel size Common section Case-design consideration
3 inch / 75 mm 75 × 32 mm Compact cases with limited height below the base
4 inch / 100 mm 100 × 32 mm A useful starting request for flight-box and road-case accessories
5 inch / 125 mm 125 × 32 mm Larger cases where wheel clearance and rolling route justify the extra height

Inch labels are common trade names. Specify the required diameter in millimetres: 3, 4 and 5 inch products may be offered as 75, 100 and 125 mm, or as exact imperial dimensions. These are not automatically interchangeable.

A 4 inch square-edge brake caster request needs more than wheel size. State whether “square edge” describes a flat tread, a square mounting plate or a corner bracket. These are different parts of the assembly. Common dimensions can be produced; final case fit follows the approved drawing.

Plate Mounts Are Different from Corner and Recessed Casters

The supplied blue caster photographs show plate-mounted assemblies. A corner caster or recessed luggage wheel uses a different bracket and may sit partly inside the case base. If your bill of materials calls for blue corner casters, flight box accessories or a square cup, send the bracket drawing and the case wall thickness. A plate caster should not be treated as a direct substitute solely because both use a 100 mm wheel.

Buy for the Route and the Loaded Equipment

A quiet wheel is only part of the result. Case panel vibration, loose hardware, floor joints, bearing fit and the way the contents are supported also affect sound. Specify the loaded case weight, ramps or thresholds, movement frequency and any outdoor transfer between buildings. Ask for a high-load assembly where the project requires it, with the rating matched to the wheel, fork, swivel head and case mounting structure.

Brake holding performance is separate from rolling capacity. A case brake is a parking feature, not a shipping restraint in a vehicle. Specify the handling and securing arrangements used during transport, as well as protection for the casters and exposed pedals in the packaging.

OEM Set Packing and Repeat Orders

Provide the number of cases, casters per case, quantities of each configuration and the required spare-wheel allowance. Define kit labels, left/right brake orientation where relevant, inclusion of fasteners and protection of exposed wheel treads. An approved drawing and position list make repeat purchasing more reliable than a photograph and a generic “heavy duty blue wheel” description.

Steel Mounting Plate Details

For steel plate caster assemblies, include plate thickness, hole or slot pattern, fastener clearance and the agreed metal finish in the case drawing. The case reinforcement and fixing arrangement must support the quoted wheel group; a similar-looking plate is not enough to establish interchangeability.

Flight-Case Buyer Questions

Are road case casters and flight case castors different products?

The terms often describe the same general case-building application, with US and UK spellings. Match the actual construction, installation and duty instead of treating the names as separate specifications.

Can a 4 inch TPR case set use double bearings and dual locking?

Those requirements can be included in the configuration request. Confirm whether double bearings refer to the wheel hub and specify both wheel and swivel locking if total lock is required.

Can the set be customised around our case drawing?

Yes. Include the base drawing, reinforcement, hole pattern, available height, loaded weight, brake access and quantity by position. Special dimensions are matched to samples or drawings.
